update

3:20 p.m. MST

Dear Kit of the Month customers,
Due to our production process and the way the KOTM program works, we order kits according to what we project our requests will be. We are always working a few months in advance. While we knew this kit would be popular, we were simply overwhelmed by the demand for Project 365. All this interest even caused the website to crash today. Now, as you see, we have sold out in just a few short hours—a new record. We are just as excited as you are about this amazing concept and we want you to be able to save your year’s worth of memories with this wonderful kit. We hear your demands and are making all efforts to have a game plan in place to order more soon.

Please know that the frustrations you’ve expressed—especially today—do not fall on deaf ears. We do hear them as we try to improve the process each time.

Please be patient and stay tuned to Becky’s blog and the KOTM blog for additional information as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you,
The KOTM Team

Again, we apologize for your frustration with ordering this kit. It's frustrating on our "little KOTM development team" end as well to see this happen.

Here are answers to a couple questions:

Why is there a $0.00 total?
You won't be charged until the kit ships, so it says $0 until that changes.

Can I order online from Canada?
Yes.

We will continue to keep you updated as we know more information.

It appears the ordering site is working, but it may still work slowly due to high demand. Good news is, there are kits still available.

  1. Thanks, I finally got through the whole process.

  2. Its not fixed. The server fails every time I click the "process my order now" button. And if the server doesn't time out, then I get a page that says there are no items in my cart. AUGH!!! I am soo frustrated.

  3. I got thru, but was charged $0. I hope it works!

  4. I was able to get all the way thru the ordering process...BUT the entire time my order total was at $0. Does this mean I still ordered my kit. I put in all my info including my credit card info. This is definitely worth the wait. And certainly not worth getting all worked up over. Seriously, there are far worse situations in life than missing out on a KOTM. Becky, I appreciate all that you and your team are doing to help. Happy New Year!

  5. I just checked my email. Even though I keep getting a message that there was nothing in my cart when I tried to complete my order, I have FIVE receipts in my email. The receipts show nothing other than an order number- which may or may not be my orders for the "nothing in my cart". I can't tell because there are no order details. I am trying to order two of these kits, one for myself and one for my mother as a gift, so can anyone tell me if I have ordered "nothing" or 10 kits? Help!!

  6. I got mine ordered, finally. Thanks.

  7. wow i already broke my no cussing in the new year resolution

    ReplyDelete
  8. Like a couple people above, I got through it just took a little patience. However, I was charged $0, maybe it's just a display error?

    ReplyDelete
  9. a LITTLE patience? sorry, been on since before the 9 am stated time and its been an hour and a half

    ReplyDelete
  10. Did anyone else get the "nothing in your cart" message? Did I sucessfully order or not?

    ReplyDelete
  11. just went on and ordered but my total is $0.00????
Please explain what is going on!!!

  12. wow! maybe i should have taken a picture of me sitting in front of the computer for an hour and a half trying to order this kit. and i still don't have any idea if my order went thru.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i have a confirmation number although it says it charged 0 to my credit card. I hope this is right can someone answer if that is correct?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have been trying to place my order from CANADA all morning, but cannot get through. This is probably the worst day to start the sale, as families call each other to wish "Happy New Year" and all phone circuits are busy. I will keep trying to call, as I really want this kit and Canadian orders cannot be placed on the web.

    ReplyDelete
  15. someone from CK needs to learn how the ordering process works and NOT blame the internet. online sites have worked correctly for years now. you all need to stop hyping things up, telling us to hurry and then not be ready! i have been on the computer for hours and i refuse to purchase it when it says $0

Someone needs to explain the $0.00

    ReplyDelete
  16. i'm from canada and it worked although it charged me 0 same as everyone else

    ReplyDelete
  17. it did give me a confirmation number. I just started at 12 EST although it said 9am Mountain time, make sure you convert it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm not positive on the $0 amount...but maybe it is because our credit card will not be billed until it is shipped. I was able to get through just a few minutes ago after attempting several times.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, i got through the ordering process, but when i hit the process order, it timed out again and i didnt get my conformation number. i've been waiting now for over a 1/2 hour to see if i get an email conformation, but nothing has come yet. should i be ordering it again or am i going to get stuck with two kits?

    ReplyDelete
  20. When my call from Canada finally goes through, I get a message "Due to technical difficulties, we cannot route your call at the moment". I've been trying all morning, to no avail. Is it possible for you to save a kit for those of us who have been trying all morning? That would be much appreciated.

  22. I also ended up with 3 reciepts for kits in my email inbox!!! I didn't think any of the orders went through!! Now I can get through to anyone to find out for sure and possibly cancel two kits I didn't want! Ugh! I hope I can get a hold of someone at CK before the orders go out.

    ReplyDelete
  23. my web order from canada worked, i even got a confirmation email. try doing it online. they have all the provinces in the shipping options. I'm from ontario also

    ReplyDelete
  24. Could you post the name and contact information (both email and mailing address) for the person with whom we should direct our KOTM customer service concerns? I preordered the Sweet Baby Kit and after four emails and one phone call, I still haven't received it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. My order had 0 due
    did it go thru
when will these jan kotm kits ship

    ReplyDelete
  26. where do we check to see our orders on this site??

    ReplyDelete
  27. If you went to the "more info" screen for the kit, it says your cc won't be charged UNTIL the order ships. That's why it says $0.00.

I agree, though...it took me almost an hour and with SEVERAL extremely frustrating attempts to FINALLY get an order confirmation. So many times I'd get all the way to the "confirm my order" button and it would have erased all the info I entered so I had to start over again. But, like I said, I finally got an email order confirmation.

I don't think CK has ever created such a frenzy for one of their kits before and weren't technologically ready to see it through. I mean, get a clue! As of 9:00pm last night, there were over 3k comments on this blog to Becky's contest to win one. Sooo many people were commenting that they were going to early as early as possible to make sure it didn't sell out on them.

Anyway, hang in there...it eventually works.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am frustrated beyond belief as it has taken about an hour and forty minutes of constant trying from the moment the kit went on sale (and not to mention I'm also very tired as I was up in the wee hours in my time zone to order because I was so excited about getting this kit). This has definitely taken some of the fun out of this project for me already, since this whole ordering experience was so unpleasant. It REALLY does need to be improved!!!! (And only SOME of the problem can be blamed on the website being busy and "slammed" all at once). There are still many improvements which could be made on the CK site as far as the ordering process goes.

I am also completely confused as I read the above comments because so many people are reporting that their total orders showed as "$0" (as if it was a preorder), yet when I finally got through the whole process, it indicated nothing about a preorder on mine, and my order gave me an actual total (and the shipping was almost the same price as the product, I might add!) I received a total, and an order confirmation #, and all indications looked as if my credit card would be charged immediately. Then I immediately received the confirmation email and it also showed the same total for my order. Why was my experience so different than that of those above who were showing an order of $0 ????? I just don't understand how so many of us are having such similarly frustrating experiences -- yet at the same time such DIFFERENT results, and we are all ordering at the same time within the first hour or two??????????

CK really needs to examine it's process and be ready for this kind of response to the sales of Becky's kits!!! It always seems to be a problem, and it looks like it should go a lot more smoothly by now after previous lessons learned. I am not here to be negative at all -- REALLY! But I am just being honest in my feelings of frustration because I am not feeling like a very happy customer right now! I'm sure I'll be happier once I receive my product (although I have no indication of when that will be) and will enjoy having a place for all of the 365 photos/memorabilia. However, it just seems that this wasn't the best way to kick off the new kit, or the new year! There must be a better way of doing this next time without creating so much unnecessary frustration among everyone. It definitely creates a bad vibe, rather than the really happy and excited vibe that everyone was feeling about Project 365 just only hours before!

CK, PLEASE try to work on your customer service in the future! Again, I'm not wishing to be negative, but I think it is extremely important for CK to be aware of all these problems, so I think it is important for to report it!

  29. FINALLY moving on to Checkout_two! I HOPE I can get all the way to the end with an album!
I have tried calling too to know avail!

  31. I have such a headache now, my kids are mad at me (we had somewhere special to be an hour ago), and I am MAD! This is the 1st time ordering from CK, I have an account, though checkout2 is saying it does not exist! What the??!!??
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!? Easy for those who got their order placed and confirmed to tell others to hold on, be patient, yadayadayada....

  33. Well, I just spent 2 hours this morning trying to order this kit. I finally got all the way thru the order process and my total also shows $0. I do have an order number so I am extremely hopeful that means I actually ordered one.
CK needs to get their act together before they hype something up like this and then not take pre-orders or be prepared for this kind of response.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Has anyone else had any luck with the number? I get a busy signal and if I do manage to get through to the "your call is very important" message, it hangs up on me! Regardless of what cell phone or landline I use!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I haven't been able to order this kit for over 1 hour trying to order this kit. I don't know what to do. I keep trying to log on with my ID and it doesn't take. I try being a new customer and it keeps defaulting to returning customer so I'm stuck! I've closed out my browser and gone back in and it still doesn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I didn't get the kind of email listed above, I get a "thank you" with a confirmation number, $0 and no item listed. It's been over 2 hours of my sitting at the computer trying to get this. My family has already eaten breakfast and I'm still sitting here trying to figure this out.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i got the same confirmation number as above with 0 on it, hopefully its true otherwise ck will have a lot of angry customers....lets keep the faith. keep the happy new year!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I tried and still don't know if I got it or not. There is no confirmation number although it was showing $0.

Heaven knows I might have a bunch ordered. How do we find out?

I was on at 11 am with it in my cart, then it crashed.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thank you, they say 0 is good. So don't worry everyone. Keep on trying it works even from Canada, where i'm from

    ReplyDelete
  40. AAAUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!! On Hold for 20 minutes! Someone picked up and I got DISCONNECTED!!!! Now I cannot connect!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Says kits are out of stock. No icon for preorder. Frustrated with amount of time spent on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have been on hold for well over an hour and 15 minutes and still have no idea as to whether the confirmation numbers I have recieved actually are connects to the kits that I tried to order. I tried to place an order for 2 kits and finally got all the way through. I have no received two emails wth seperate confirmation numbers but with no details in the confirmation email. I have no idea whether I now have 4 kits or NONE! This is not how I planned to spend my New Year's Day! I am left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  43. FINALLY!!!! 2 hours 45 minutes, got all the way through checkout! BTW at the bottom of the screen where you enter your CC# it states your card will not be billed immediately or something...Now off to find some Tylenol, apologize to my family, and figure out howto make my 3 and 4 yo's happy again (mommy has been a monster the last hour or so!)

    ReplyDelete
  44. ugh! I had the item in my cart, the site kicked me off twice. I logged out then in again and now it is sold out!? How can this be?? So very frustrating!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am extremely displeased that it was previously announced on your website that CANADIAN orders could not be shipped via website orders, and telephone orders were our only option. I have spent 3 hours trying to get through on the phone, to no avail. NOW, a KOTM team member posts that Canadian orders CAN be placed on the web!!!! If I had know that beforehand, I would have used that option also....now I might miss out on this terrific kit...SO SAD!!!

  46. I have been on hold on the customer service line for almost 3 hours. I am doing things online while I wait. NOT cool!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pffff... called several times, all the way from the Netherlands and got disconnected over and over again, sometimes after 20 minutes!! Now it costs me a lot and I don't even have ordered... Tsss... Feeling stressed now, but I so want this!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I finally received my confirmation email showing an actual amount for the kit (my on-line receipt showed a $0), but the shipping amount shows as $42.39 for 1 kit. Could this get any more frustrating?
The email gave a phone number and an email address for questions or concerns. I chose email as I don't think I can deal with being on hold on the phone right now. We'll see what's up with the shipping problem now.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I was ordering 5 kits form myself and my girlfriends. I tried for a couple hours to get it to got through and it would only show the extended price as **. It give give me the price for the two other items I ordered. The entire time it only gave me a price for the other two items I ordered. I received an email and it had everything BUT my 5 Project 365 kits. I sure hope I get them since I got my friends so excited for this!!!! This has been a very frustrating morning and I also was crabby with my family. They really shouldn't of had it released on a day when the office was closed. I tried calling the 1.800 number and it told me it wasn't valid. Seems like there are many problems that need to get resolved.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sold Out. How depressing. I was really looking forward to ordering this kit. Guess I'll try to make my own.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Soooo frustrating, now it says item is sold out, no hope for an order?????

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just got home from being on the road all morning from holiday travels and the kit is sold out. Will you be re-releasing it? I sure hope so!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Then why did some of our orders HAVE a total??
And I sent an email about the shipping address, and I am wondering if it will all get caught up in this mess!!

Does anyone have any idea WHEN this is suppose to ship? I don't want to get mine in March!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Totally bummed that I'm still not able to order it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have been trying since before 9am MST and couldn't even get the KOTM for Jan. to display. The website was jammed, as mentioned.I figured the traffic on the site was the reason.I tried for an hour and couldn't even get the kit to come up. Had to leave for an appointment and returned to find that they were all sold out. I even tried to dial the phone number provided. It wouldn't even do anything! I am so frustrated. Like everyone else, I hope you will have more availalble. Hard to believe that you sold out in the first hour. As much as this has been advertised I would hope there will be more. My suggestion is that it should have been pre-order all along and not give specific time for it to go on sale. Thus preenting the problem of everyone jamming up the website and the phones. If CK gave second chance to order Becky's school kit, surely they will have these available again! PLEASE!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. When will this ship? I feel like you guys are pulling a fast one on us by not telling us when it will ship? sorry, but that is the way it seems. If I am not going to get my kit for another month ... well, then I would have rather skipped this kit all together.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm really bummed that I didn't get one either! Totally sold out! I've been counting down the days, and I even asked my family last night what MST was in our world. Please offer more of these kits and make it easier to get them.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is it sold out? Please let us know! This has been a disaster!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh wow! My CC has already been charged. Sooooo ladies... Check and see if your CC has been charged. Looks like it's NOT a pre-order afterall!

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's it - it's 11:38 PST, and I'm done trying. I'm so disappointed. Not even an add to cart button, and I can't get through on the phone. This is not how I planned to spend my first day in 2009. So much for "happy" new year.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I had it in my cart....in my grasp and the site kicked me off...now they are sold out and I have no kit...very frustrating!!! I have a fast computer and I have a good connection. This has happened a few times with other kits...you guys need to fix how it works when you prep for a launch this big. I started a little after 9 trying West Coast time...

Are you guys going to set up a waiting list...or maybe a pre-order list??

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow. This is so reminiscent of signing up for Creative Escape two years ago!

I wonder if there'll be extra kits when the dust settles? Sounds like some may have gotten more kits than they wanted, so they should go back into the system if that's the case.

I sure do hope they start a waiting list so those of you who have been sitting at your 'puter since they went on sale, get first dibs.

I'd be SHOCKED if they don't make more of these kits.

Hang in there everyone, and I sure hope you can still enjoy the New Year!

    ReplyDelete
  63. It's gone already? Why didn't you make a couple of thousand extra. Should have let us pre-order them...

    ReplyDelete
  64. This would have been one of those things they could have offered as a pre-order back in November. That way, it would have been clear as to how many people really wanted the kit and how many to make, stock, etc. I was SO looking forward to this kit.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I too have been thinking about this kit for over a month. I was out of the country until a few hours ago, so I did not get a chance to order. Are there going to be any more kits made available?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I was immediately charged for my kit purchase. As a customer, it is concerning to see so many different situations with people. After purchasing something, it isn't a good feeling to be charged and really have no idea if I will get it or not.

    ReplyDelete
  67. i was wondering the same thing about more kits, because i couldn't get on and then we had somewhere to go and now they are gone, the phone line is constantly busy too

i really hope they make more as i was really looking forward to doing this project but probably won't do it if it isn't that easy to assemble

    ReplyDelete
  68. After all the hype I am surprised it sold out quickly - I would have thought there'd be a gazillion kits! Please tell us they'll be more made available, and please tell us this type of total sell out withing just 2 hours will NOT happen again. Didn't you see this coming??

    ReplyDelete
  69. I say "ditto" to Penny's comments above! Why DID some of us get charged immediately, while most others it seems are showing a zero dollar amount (as in the case of a preorder)?? This was never billed as a preorder was it? If it had been, we all could have ACTUALLY been able to PRE-ORDER!! (which is totally what should have happened in the first place!) Anway.....I am just SO confused by this whole process today -- SO many inconsistencies -- it has been nothing short of chaos!! I also agree with what Penny said about not wanting to have to wait until March for the kit to arrive. The whole POINT of this kit is to be able to slip things right into the pockets as you go! That's the whole beauty of it, and why so many of us wanted to order it, right? Sure, I KNOW that we didn't NEED the kit in our hands in order to start collecting tidbits of our lives, and we can still take pictures and set them aside to put into the kit later, etc, etc, etc. That's fine to have to do that maybe for the first couple of weeks of the year while waiting for the kit, I guess, but the truth of the matter is that it is supposed to be something you can keep up with as you go along and not get so far "behind"!! It just isn't the same to be doing a daily 365 project and have to wait several months into the year to actually receive the materials!! So I hope CK is going to be able to actually deliver on all these orders very soon. Otherwise....this project just really loses it's appeal!!

I know the KOTM team probably feels it is really getting slammed with complaints today, but I think we all have a right to be upset, and a right to be HEARD! Out of all of this chaos, hopefully they can figure out a way to bring about some positive changes before the next time.

    ReplyDelete
  70. After buying from CK for YEARS, I have become increasing frustrated and unimpressed. Then I saw this kit and decided to give CK another chance. But it was sold out before I had a chance to order. And I must say, I've never seen so much frustration, from so many, in a blog comments area.
Once again, I am frustrated and unimpressed with CK. Tsk, Tsk

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sold out?? I've been waiting for this kit since CK arrived in my mailbox! This is just sad. And a little annoying. I second the pre-order comment.

    ReplyDelete
  72. This is insane - CK, you REALLY dropped the ball, and now you MUST be lying in this update.

You say that it says $0 because the card isn't billed until the kit ships. If that's true, how did some of us, myself included, have the correct amounts show and were even charged? Our kits COULDN'T HAVE shipped, because it's a holiday.

So one way or another, you're lying.

    Shameful.

I wasn't upset, because my order was obviously placed successfully, but if there's one thing I can't stand it's dishonesty.

If I'm missing something here, please let me know and I'll gladly apologize for my statements, but this is ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Is anyone out there?? It has been over 2 hours since this blog has been updated by the KOTM team or someone at CK. I think all of us would appreciate some comments as to what is actually going on. Maybe they have all gone home for the day......

    ReplyDelete
  74. Sounds like a alot of us are in the same boat. I was never able to get past the "confirm your order page". I did get 6 confirmation emails with 6 different order numbers, although only on actually has the 365 kit listed and the costs. Does this mean I have none, one or 6? Can someone let us know where we can check our order status with an order number. I will be very disappointed if I spent over 3 hours with nothing to show for it. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  75. CK, if this was the first time there was a problem, you might have an excuse. But...you've had months to try and work out the kinks. If I might make some suggestions on behalf of all the frustrated customers out here -

    1) Let us preorder popular kits so they don't run out.

    2) Preview some of the new kits and encourage people to email you when they like something so your sales people can tell how popular an item is and can adjust the order.

    3) Don't offer a KOTM on a holiday.

    4) Make sure you have staff on hand the first day a kit goes on sale to handle any potential problems.

This is a tough economy, and people are being very selective in what they purchase. You have a popular product, tons of people who are willing to buy it and you are dropping the ball. This is not the way to create a positive image at CK.

  76. CK---

I am feeling stressed for two reasons today:

#1 My Cornhuskers aren't doing well in their bowl game today against Clemson.

#2 I can't get through to order the 365 Kit!

I know you can't do anything about my #1 problem, but please, please make sure I get my kit!

    Thanks
    Amy (a Scrapbooking Husker Fan)

  77. I am really upset with this whole situation. I tried for over two hours to order the kit, and was not successful. I would either get kicked out of the site or when trying to proceed with my checkout it would show another kit even though I purchased the 365 days kit.

The kit is now showing as SOLD OUT and I have wasted 2 hours of my day for absolutely nothing.
I really hope that more kits become available and that you improve the process for your customers.

    Thanks,
    Ana

    ReplyDelete
  78. I have been on hold for 4 hours. Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'm just trying to figure out if the kit is sold out or what?? It says it is on the site but I read about people being able to get through & order. I can't even get it into my cart. I know with previous kits they've been able to track how many kits have been sold. Is that an option here? Does anyone know how many kits were initially available, how many have been sold or if they really are sold out?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have tried off and on since 9am and now that I can get through I go to checkout and it says the kits are sold out. I really wish you guys would have done a pre-order, and I really hope you are going to have more for sale SOON. If anything, I would love to at least have the page protectors available to buy

  81. Unfortunately, I think too many people at Creating Keepsakes are worried about the profit margin on this item and failed to adequately gear up for an on-line or phone-in ordering process. This isn't the first time that the on-line ordering site has been slammed so the people at CK knew that they could not handle this type of volume (remember the School Day's kit??). Shame on you CK for letting so many people down today. I agree with Jen's comment from above....the first picture in many people's album will be a frustrated customer in front of a computer screen....

  82. Just a random thought...I think this kit should have been a pre-order back in October or November so that we could have had them by January 1st and we could have all avoided an un-happy new year!
Hopefully, I got one, my email from CK just gives an order number..no product name, no total.
CK, I'm sorry, but you need to get your act together. A company like yours should be able to handle sales like this by now.
Becky did a great job generating sales for you and you aren't able to finish the job.

  83. I would like to know if CANADIANS are able to order online, or only by phone. The details on your website condradict each other: in one spot is states only phone orders are accepted for Canadian & international, then a recent KOTM post said Canadians can order online....which is correct? Please clarify for future reference and please STATE IT CLEARLY on your website.

  84. It is very hard to order from the other side of the world...I have just got up (7am) and I am reading it has sold out. Before I went to bed last night it wasn't open to order yet. I was so looking forwrd to getting this kit. I may still try to ring, but after reading the comments I wonder if I should bother because the phone call alone will cost me a fortune. Very frustrating. International should be able to order online.

  85. Is this kit sold out?? Please let us know if we need to keep checking back or if it's out. PLEASE let us know when we can get it backordered or log back on to order!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. So if we got as far as the process the order screen and the site bombed out with a page can't be displayed screen, are we out of luck? This happened to me and I didn't get a confirmation email so I'm guessing that I do not have an order.

Sorry to hear that the "little kotm team" is frustrated. Maybe you guys should pass on some feedback to the higher ups. Like it's a terrible idea to put this up on a holiday? Like the whole system needs to be revamped because disasters like this are common for the kotm? Just my thoughts.

  87. So I'm very very bummed and kind of upset. I had the kit in my online shopping cart several times this morning and the site's server crashed every time. Despite repeated attempts, the time I finally got back onto the site, it looks like the kit was already sold out. Will you make any more available????

    ReplyDelete
  88. Please advise if this kit is sold out. I have been on the phone 2x for 30 min each time waiting. I am from Canada and ordered the Sweet Baby Kit online, why cant I get this one online?

  89. for those of you who DID get an order and confirmation email...Does anyone have information regarding the qty not matching the order total? I was trying to order multiple kits, and my "qty" says I did, but the order total is for 1 kit???

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm among the frustrated but I do realize the booboos in cyberspace are unavoidable at times. However, I am wondering if when it is all resolved we will still be able to order the 365 kit. Its a really great idea and I'm anxious to be able to buy the kit. In the meantime I will continue to gather up my "stuff".

  91. I am also very disappointed that i was not able to order this kit...keeping my eyes on the monitor so that i can order my copy! HELP!!!

  92. KOTM Team -

I appreciate your update. However, I have to say that your ability to project how popular kits has been wrong numerous times now. Again, allowing people to PREORDER would have saved everyone a lot of time and hassle, and would probably have shortened the amount of time you would have to work on a holiday.

By the time you get your act together, I will have probably bought all the necessary supplies online or at Archivers. I encourage others to do the same as a form of protest, and it will allow you to start your project NOW (as it is being advertised) vs. 3 months from now when CK gets their act together.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Thanks for the update KOTM team, but please address the issues that those of us who "think" we ordered the kit are having. How many kits did we order, if we have a confirmation #, do we actually have one? Also, my email does show an amount, but my shipping charges are more than the kit itself ($42.39). Where can we go to get updates, who can we call, when can we expect to get answers to emails?

    ReplyDelete
  94. At this point, i have a confirmation number and an email that says it was ordered ($0 total) so i really don't know if it was ordered or not....but the way this site does (doesn't) work is kind of beyond me...why don't the links work, were is the customer service numbers/email, how can we track?

it is not as if you are new at this...it should have been fixed months ago!?

  95. Dear KOTM team,

What are those of us to do that have multiple orders we do not want? Everytime I got to the final page I was booted and I didn't think the orders went through. Now I have 3 kits and I only want one. I have emailed only to not have that NOT go through, it keeps bouncing back. I called the 800 number and it was out earlier and now the recording says they are closed till tomorrow AM. Please adress this situation as it has happened to many of us and it would be nice to get those kits in the system for those who didn't get one.

    Thank you

  96. This is the email I get back when I try to email the addy that CK has supplied. Ugh!

    Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 No such user (CreatingKeepsakes@holdenmss.com) (state 14).

  97. I was one of the many, many disappointed people who didn't get a kit. But from reading the posts, it sounds like there are many people who ordered multiple kits accidentally because of errors. So once you sort through all of them and delete orders, there will be kits left over- so hopefully some of us will get to buy them. And I will add my voice to the others to say that I will WAIT longer- please reorder!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hmm...I have been reading the comments here plus at a couple other sb sites and there seems to be some inconsistencies in the amounts we were charged. I was charged $50.23; $35.95 for the kit, $2.70 for tax and $1158 for S&H. I have a friend who was charged $41.95 and I see 2 totals here in the comments; one for $42.39 and another for $45.08. Was I over charged on the S&H? Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I just want to make a comment if someone is still reading them regarding more kits. Please make way more than you think you can sell. The reason I say this is that as this kit is SEEN by others, people will want it later this month. This kit is AMAZING and so EASY and a cool step in scrapbooking for the non-scrapbooker. I really would encourage you, IF you could, to make the kit available for much longer than one month. I am not sure how all the creating of the kit works, but if you made it available longer and made tons and tons, you SERIOUSLY would sell them no problem! If you don't make a lot, then there will people just buying them up and selling them for $150+ on ebay. That will be sad and CK and everyone else's loss.

So PLEASE PUT A LIMIT on the number that can be purchased next round. Because I would hate to see them gone again and on ebay selling for hundreds. Please allow only 5 or fewer or maybe less, for your CUSTOMER'S SAKE!

    Thank you.

  100. It seems like this whole thing could have been avoided with one SIMPLE thing. Allow pre-ordering!! Really...it just makes good business sense. You would have had a MUCH better idea of how many you would need, you wouldn't have phone lines and internet service down all day, and you wouldn't have thousands of disappointed customers.

It doesn't even seem feasible that you could have underestimated the demand this drastically. You promoted the heck out of this thing, you had THOUSANDS of people reply to Becky's blog, and yet the kits were gone before some of us could even get the website to load.

There is already a kit being sold for $66 on ebay, with two days left on the auction, and you can bet there will be many more like that.

ALL of this could have been avoided if people could have just pre-ordered their kits. I'm not sure why CK is so against this concept....

Hopefully there will be kits for those of us who want them...

I loved the idea and I am disappointed that CK was not able to follow through on this.

  103. Patience paid off! This morning I thought I would NEVER get through--just thought my computer was being extremely slow. Just when I was about to give up, it would go to the next screen. Finally, SUCCESS!! I know there will be a second chance for those who didn't make it through. I thought I had missed out on the Becky Higgins school kit, and just like magic, you had more available for us to order! So, just be patient! It pays off!

  104. I tried and tried to order by phone, but no-one was answering! I can't believe the CK ordering system can't cope with international orders online! I had bought one of Ali's kits online previously...so what has changed? I got up at 3am this morning to order and no luck at all. What a fiasco! I think the concept is excellent and I will continue with the project...hopefully one day I will have the kit, but I will carry on regardless. Perhaps a digital version of the inserts could be released? I'll keep checking back to see if more are released in the future.

  105. Maybe you should have QVC handle your stuff from now on. I mean Lisa is there all the time. They seem to be able to handle large orders, and know exactly how much stock they have. Think about it. I think the excitement is gone now, and many of us will not be ordering even if it does come in stock.

I am going to figure out how to do something similar on my own.

Hey any companies out there who make sheet protectors watching. You could make a fast buck if you copied these page protectors. Who needs the cardstock, most of us have plenty. Date stickers... I think we could make our own of those too.

  106. Anyone else overcharged for shipping?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Oh boy, what an earful you guys are getting today. I am one of the very lucky few (it would appear) who was able to order a kit, but it took more than an hour to complete the process. I agree with others that kits should be available via preorder or through a partnership with QVC. Unfortunately, your system simply doesn't appear able to handle the demand and volume for these kits.

Also, if you do continue to offer KOTM through the CK website, I feel people should be limited to one kit per purchase, at least on day one. It will be frustrating for those who were unable to order to see the kits popping up on sites like eBay (which they already are!) because others took advantage and ordered a bunch of kits. That's just greedy--just my opinion, of course.

Thanks for making such great kits available, and for working hard to find solutions to these ordering issues.

  108. I just wanted to comment on the $0.00 total issue. I guess I had a kit in my basket but when I saw the 0 total i assumed it didn't work and I didn't finish ordering. I have been bummed about it all day. I don't want to lash out or be rude like some other comments but maybe you could specify this on the checkout page so it won't happen again. Heres hoping that you will have more kits available very soon. Thanks for all your hard work.

  109. To answer TJ's question about the shipping charge..... the total on my confirmation was $68.81 ($35.95 for kit and $32.86 for shipping) -- shipping costs are almost the price of another kit-- yikes! Maybe it has to do with where we live? I'm not sure if it is accurate, or just another inconsistency??? There was no one to ask at CK today, so I couldn't really check on it. At the time, I was just so glad to have gotten the kit and to get a confirmation of a completed order. SIGH....so many unanswered questions. Definitely frustrating!

  110. Has anyone been able to reach anyone at this number; 1-800-453-1173? I'm sitting here on hold...again!

  111. I also tried as soon as they went on sale and had one in my cart. I was able to put in all of my credit card information but it would never confirm order. VERY FRUSTRATING. Please get more kits as there are MANY people who still want to but them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Another one unsuccessful in ordering. I want to echo what others have said - this should have been the kit for December, it should have been available for pre-order AND you need to limit the number purchased by address or CC number. There are, right now, 5 Project 365 kits for sale on eBay and one is going for over $150. That is ridiculous and incredibly frustrating to those of us that couldn't even get the thing into our shopping cart on your site yesterday.

There is no reason a professional organization should be having this much trouble month after month with a KOTM. Obviously, whatever system you have for predicting the popularity of a kit is not working as well as having a pre-order for at least two weeks before each release. You didn't have enough of this kit (after promoting the heck out of it) and the previous EIGHT kits are still for sale on your website (when this program initially debuted, it was fairly clear THEN that the kits wouldn't be available after their month. Hmmm...) Still a lot of kinks to work out, CK.

  114. I did finally get through to a guy who initially told nme to call back this afternoon. Now I am reading where they are saying to call back on Monday! Anyway he said that "they" don't even get the kits until the 9th and then they will start shipping them! So looks like we will be lucky to have them by the 15th! That means we will have over 2 weeks of pics and journaling to transfer over! Why in the heck didn't they sell this kit in December so we would all have it by the first? This is a time sensitive kit and for that reason alone VERY POOR PLANNING ON CK'S/BECKY'S PART!! Just another CK disaster. Sigh. Remember the kits that Lisa did with missing parts? Oh my... Will they ever learn from their past mistakes?

  115. Well, I just got off from the phone with the 720 number, and even though I had gotten two "thanks for your order" numbers (I ordered one of three, but it went through twice for a total of six), looks like NONE of them went through. I talked to an actual human just minutes ago, and even though I went to cancel the one order, and keep the other one, neither of the two numbers I gave went through at all, and I put my order in at 10:07AM Mountain time. The one order that I want, gave me the receipt but with the "0" dollar amount, and shows my cards last four digits and everything, but she said to call back on Monday to see if either of them went through.

So it looks like if you got an actual dollar amount and shipping amount then it went through. If you got just the "0", and just the email stating "thank you for your order" and an actual order number, you didn't get anything. She said also to keep checking after the ninth of the month to see if they go back on sale.

There is one for sale on eBay for $275.00.????????????? WTF

    ReplyDelete
  116. What a mess this is!!!! I'm 99% sure my order didn't go through because I got an error page then no email. I wish CK could tell me for sure because I want to go buy other materials to get this project rolling on my own.

I can't believe there's no update here or on Becky's blog. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I can't believe I tried and tried to get just one kit and couldn't and now find multiples for sale on ebay...one now going for over $200! What is going one? Maybe you should put a limit like coupons one per person then others wanting the kit would have a chance. So sad

  118. CK needs to report the listings on eBay as violations. It states specfically in their terms that these kits are not for resale. They should be able to have these listings removed, but they probably won't since they have so many other things to worry about. Of all the things that are wrong about what happened the listings on eBay are what get me really angry. These people don't even have the kits in hand and now who knows if they will with all this talk of orders being lost, etc?

  120. I agree with "H". I was fully expecting an update on this blog or Becky's blog this morning as to what we are supposed to do regarding our questions. Seriously, with the amount of people reading these blogs they could save themselves from further headaches by posting an update. I see from previous posts that people are getting thru to CK but they don't know anything today either. I guess I will just wait until Monday. Apparently, even if we recieved an email with a dollar amount that is not a firm order.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I have no idea if I got one or not as I had to leave my house to deliver Meals on Wheels after fruitlessly spending 45 minutes trying to order. My daughter tried to take over for me. As much as I can see the point of limiting the # of kits, please do NOT do that! I was planning on ordering three as I took Becky's suggestion and gave them as Christmas gifts with the picture off her blog printed out and wrapped up. That would stink if I was then not able to order the proper number of kits. Yes, some people abuse anything to make a buck, let God deal with them, don't gyp honest people.
