No February KOTM

We're sorry to announce that we are postponing the next release of Kit of the Month because we are still in the midst of correcting the fulfillment issues of Project 365. We want to make sure that everything is back to normal before embarking on another kit, so we won’t be offering a KOTM during the month of February.

Stay tuned to this blog and the Kit of the Month site for more information as it becomes available (and maybe even sneak peeks of the next kit!).

Thank you for your understanding.

  1. OH I hope you guys make more!! I would LOVE to have one!!!!!

  2. I am just wondering, is there a dedicated spot for ideas from each KOTM? For example, Becky's Baby KOTM, is there somewhere where there are layouts that have been uploaded from various people specifically related to the Baby KOTM?

    Thanks!

  3. can you pleeeeeeeeeease order extra!!! I am not paying 200 dollars for a 40 dollar kit on ebay and the downloads of the designs are "corruped" according to my computer and I cannot use those either! I would LOOOOVE one of these!

  4. Customer service has come through for me. They have not been able to find my order in the computer even though I have an order number and my credit card was charged. I was a difficult time determining whether I had a kit coming or not. I received confirmation late Thursday that I will be receiving Project 365 in the February shipment. I am very excited.

    Thank you customer service.

  5. Couple of suggestions:
For those of us lucky enough to get the kit it would be really nice to see finished weekly layouts. You should look at the Hero Arts blog. They have a weekly designer showing ideas based around a "theme". The same concept would work great on this KOTM Blog. Every week a ck desinger or guest designer posts each morning their ideas/photos.layouts etc. Everyone follows along and feels a part of it. For those who did not get the kit, maybe they may find some inspiration to go and do it with other materials. Similiar to how Ali Edwards posts on her December Daily blog each day. WE know that some type of layout/design/comments will be there to inspire us. She shows us finished pages and inspiration.

KOTM maybe you need to go to every other month and make them really creative and unique like 365. Then you can get preorders earlier which should help production issues. ie order feb 1 for the March kit.

  6. I'm done wasting my time and money on companies like CK, especially with the current financial climate.

I love Becky's work, but there's no point in even trying to get it as long as she's associated with something like this. I hope she'll rethink her decision to associate herself with CK.

  7. I would love for more layouts as well. Maybe you could have a contest. This seems to be such a great concept and I plan on only scrapbooking this way going forward.

  8. This debacle spurred me to learn Photoshop and buy one of the awesome digital kits from www.weedsandwildflowersdesign.com for $20 and I'm doing my 365 Project using her wonderful and easy templates. I love Becky Higgins - she is awesome, but this KOTM management is terrible! Good luck getting people to buy from you again.

  9. I'm with Kimberly and Scrapbean - I am SO over CK and for those of you who think you might still be getting a kit - good luck with that.

And no February kit - who cares?

    Not me, nor my dollars.

If Becky ever leaves CK I'll buy anything she sells but from CK - I think not and definitely not renewing my subscription.

  10. I don't know about anyone else, but if CK doesn't reprint this kit (and it sounds like they won't) I will not be renewing my magazine subscription. I've been a subscriber from their third issue. Shame on you CK and as far as Lisa or anyone else, sorry but your name is attached to this program so I feel you are just as much responsible. I don't think I have ever been so disgusted with an organization. It should be CK that is going out of business and not Simple Scrapbooks!

  11. Unfortunately Simple Scrapbooks is part of CK.

  12. I called the CK ordering number today and I heard a message that says, "We are working on a game plan to get more kits ordered." I am taking that message to mean....yes, Amy, you will get a kit FINALLY. Please don't disappoint me!

  13. I must have missed something, I never saw the kit offered and I am so sad. I would love to order one if they are offered again.

And as for all the negative comments towards CK, boo. Things happen. I ordered a lot of the kits last year and they were great! I enjoyed making them, especially for Christmas presents. I thought they were well planned kits full of loads of great quality & fun supplies.

Lisa and Becky, I for one appreciate your efforts. I know you are both busy mothers trying to raise your children and be super women in the scrapbooking world.

You are doing great. Please keep up the good work.

    Thanks!

  14. This is just like the School kit last year. I think, with the continuing issues, it's not worth my time.

  16. Please, please consider offering more digital version of the kit for those of us who did not get the kit. I love the free downloads, but I would like more variety. The layouts are already starting to look the same. Thank you!

  17. I'm a little bit confused, because one of your emails today has a link to your kit of the month page... are you making new ones? Where can we order one? I really would like to order or pre-order one if you will have more printed!

  18. I am finding hard to believe that so many people "accidently" got more than one kit, so now they are nice enough to sell them on ebay.

How about limiting these to ONE per customer per day or something like that. If this was truly a computer glitch, we'd all have more than one coming our way.

Since we are well into the first month of Feb. any idea when backorders are shipping if at all?

  19. I have a question about the round alpha stickers that are used to label the day of the week (the clear S,M,T,W... ones).

In all the layouts I see the stickers are laid over top of a colored piece. Were these colored round pieces included in the kit or are people sticking the letters onto cardstock and then cutting them out? It seems to be the only part that's not already done for you.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes Jill, people are putting those round stickers on cardstock or the paper that comes with the kit and adhering them mostly on the photo or on top of the protectors.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So, what tool is used to cut out the perfect circle after the sticker is placed on the cardstock?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Making Memories has a circle punch that fits perfectly (their smallest) but I bet there are many others, so you can take a circle to your local store and check. If the punch-outs are slightly bigger than the stickers it's okay too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. okay so now nothing in almost 2 weeks? they better be working on getting more 365 kits

    ReplyDelete
  24. I bought a 3/4 inch punch and it works great to punch out the day of the week stickers once they are put on the cardstock. I am doing some weeks like that. Other weeks I have put the sticker right on the picture.

  25. It's almost mid February...any info on Project 365 shipments?????

  26. i know this has nothing to do with the kotm, but i wish there was someone out there that could help me. 27. For those of you who have been charged and have recieved nothing - BEWARE!!! I was (YES, ACCIDENTLY) shipped my school kit order twice!! This was last summer...well, after verifying with Vivian that "that I just got this email telling me my order was shipping", when I had already received my product. She said I shouldn't be getting another shipment. Well, I did and I was charged again. My original order was for 3 kits. So that's $131.00...well, I contacted Vivian when I did indeed receive the second shipment and she asked me to UPS them back. And they do not do call tags...sooo, I shipped them back at $24 for UPS..remember this is July/Aug 2008 and I have yet to see any credit to my credit card or reimbursement for the UPS charges. Eventually, I was forwarded to Bill Worner, who no longer is with CK Media. He told me 12-8-08 that I check was cut to me for the whole amount (incl. shipping) and now it is 2-11-09 and I still haven't seen a penny. I have forwarded my long list of emails to the next person who is SUPPOSED to help me.

So, be ready for a long ride on this. I am going on 6 months to get my money on their mistake and nothing. I have never experienced anything like this before and it is ridiculous.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but just a heads up for everybody.

They are both linked from the front page. But I know sometimes with the website if you look too early after you get the mag, things aren't up yet, just depends. Hope this helps. =)

  30. Deb,
You should be going thru your bank at this point. Call them, explain the situation, and have them fight it out with CK. They will go to bat for you. They will credit your card and reverse the credit to CK. Have your credit card statements and reciepts from shipping ready to fax to your bank. You should not have sent that stuff back without a call tag, regardless of what they said. If they wanted their product back they would have sent one...it was their mistake. Good luck and I hope those of you with future problems remember that using charge cards does have it's benefits. Never mess with the bank!

  31. Do you know if you will be making more of the 365 KOTM? I would love to purchase one.

  32. Good luck getting a straight answer on whether they're making more...

  33. Now there's no kit this month? Wonderful. What poor business practices. Perhaps some of us looking forward to Project 365 so much, and who couldn't get it, were looking forward to the next kit not as a replacement, but as a little something else. But now this month is screwed up as well; perhaps the name "Kit of the Month" really needs to be changed, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  34. just sent a follow-up email to Bill Worner to check the status of the back-ordered kits from China...rec'd reply stating that he is NO LONGER an employee of CK Media....don't use his email - you won't get anywhere!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would say the best thing to do would be to contact the better business bureau. Maybe then the company will actually have to do something right!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Don't hold your breath getting the kit! Check out some of the bulletin boards. CK is having MAJOR financial trouble. I wouldn't renew ANY subscriptions with them at this point in time. A company that does business restructuring has been brought in. I would not be surprised to see that they have filed bankruptcy protection soon. I also would NOT submit ANY items for publication. There are people from Jan 2008 who STILL have NOT been paid!
